Nicola McGrane
Nicola established Conference Partners International (CPI) in Ireland in 1998 and the business has since expanded its reach to the UK and Central Europe. With a strong emphasis on partnering with leading researchers and innovators, CPI has bid for and delivered over 500 International meetings. Over the past 19 years, CPI’s portfolio of expertise has grown to encompass Core PCO and Association Management Services. Renowned for her ability to identify opportunities, Nicola’s creative thinking and strategic advice has been sought at the highest level by numerous Associations, Corporations and Industry bodies. Nicola is wholly committed to developing the business tourism industry in Ireland, the UK and abroad. She is a founding member of The Association of Irish Professional Conference Organisers (AIPCO) and was a passionate council member for the International Association of Professional Conference Organisers (IAPCO) for 5 years. Nicola gives generously of her expertise and hands on skills for the benefit of others and loves to share this experience with rising stars of the global meetings industry.
Patrizia Semprebene Buongiorno
Patrizia has been the Managing Director of AIM Congress Dept of AIM Group International for the past 16 years and she is actually Vice-President for AIM Group International. She has been President of IAPCO and a member of the IAPCO Training Academy and she also teaches tourism management and marketing at the Universities of Economics of Rome and Milan. She also serves as co-Chair of INCON. (Global Partnership also in Conferences and Events). The medical-scientific world has always been the focal point of Patrizia, nevertheless the Group diversification into other market segments has reached new heights. The full management of congresses, meetings and events on behalf of associations, corporations and institutions is the Group’s core business which employs more than 350 permanent staff in 17 cities worldwide. As a volunteer leader Patrizia is Secretary General of Fimac, the International Foundation Doctors for Central Africa, which is a non profit organization that aims to improve the health conditions of people in Central Africa through cooperative humanitarian projects.
Sherrif Karamat, CAE
Chief Executive Officer - PCMA
Sherrif Karamat, CAE, MBA is President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA). In conjunction with his role, Karamat also serves as President of PCMA’s Education Foundation and Publisher of Convene magazine.
In his previous role as Chief Operating Officer (COO), Karamat was a key member of PCMA executive team, and led the development and implementation of the organization’s new vision: Driving global economic and social transformation through business events. In addition to his responsibilities at executive level, Karamat led the streamlining process of PCMA’s media, content and channels under one organization. He also oversaw the partnership, business services, membership, business development and technology teams.
As part of PCMA’s growth strategy, Karamat has led the organization on a major data intelligence program and played a key role in the recent acquisition of Incentive Conference & Event Society Asia Pacific (ICESAP).
A leader in the business events industry, Karamat previously served as the Vice President of Business Sales and Services for Toronto Convention & Visitors (Tourism Toronto). He has served on various boards and is currently a director on the Destination International Board of Trustees.
Karamat is a life-long learner and, in addition to completing his Bachelor of Administrative Studies (BAS) and Master of Business Administration (MBA), he has completed various post graduate certificate programs at Wharton School of Business; Kellogg School of Business; University of Chicago; Harvard Business and Law School, where he completed a program on Strategic Negotiations for Senior Executives; and most recently, a program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on Data Intelligence and Big Data.
